Windermere To Newby Bridge Shuttle Bus

The A592 Road between Bowness and Newby Bridge is currently closed due to roadworks. Service 6 between Windermere and Barrow is therefore unable to operate as per usual. However, a shuttle link operates via Gummer How, using smaller buses between Windermere and Newby Bridge where it connects into the X6 Kendal to Barrow. Ripon Coach Park - Market Day - 5th October 2017

Thursday is Market Day in Ripon, and there were a few coaches to be seen, including YT11 LRL, a Scania Irizar, operated by Abbott's of Leeming.

Morse Coaches of Easingwold and a smart looking Mercedes - WA14 CNJ.

Although displaying a sticker for the Isle of Man, Gardiners, formerly known as Epsom Coaches, C18 EPS, really was parked in Ripon! 

Time for a drivers' chat and a drink. SM16 ONS, was delivered new to Simpson's Holidays, South West London, in May 2016.

Still displaying its school transport sticker, this Volvo, Van Hool bodied coach, M41 JGB, is in the fleet of Murgatroyd, Harrogate, who operate the market day service, one journey each way, from and to Pateley Bridge.

Kendal Bus Station

The rain lashed down and the light levels were very poor on a visit to Kendal Bus Station this morning - a little challenging for photography. 18381 is loading prior to departure on the 12:05 service 555 to Lancaster.

Kendal Bus Station

Although it has happened before, this is, however, a rare event! A shortage of MMCs, due to them being off the road, led to 34704 being pressed into service on the 555 today. Seen at Kendal Bus Station with the 12:40 to Keswick. All photographs in this set were taken by Lynda Braithwaite.  

A wet Kendal this morning with the 'green and whites' operating the town services at the Bus Station. 34719 is at the rear and 34714 at the front.

Ripon Coach Park - 4th October 2017

This former Newport Bus, Scania Omnicity, UUG 384, and now in the fleet of Connexions Buses, Tockwith, was parked in-between operating trips on the Ripon town services. 

Delivered in January 2017, this VDL Futura, E16 JCE, operated by Elcock, Madeley, Shropshire, won an award at the 2017 Blackpool Coach Rally. 

Knaresborough Bus Station

Connexions Buses from Tockwith operate a service between Harrogate and Knaresborough, as do the Harrogate Bus Company owned by Transdev. In the Connexion Buses fleet, 9936 UB, a Scania Omnicity, was new to Bullocks of Cheadle and is seen on the stop opposite Knaresboroough Bus Station. All photo's in this set were taken on 3rd October 2017.  

At Knaresborough Bus Station, in overall livery for Adbell Sign Systems, is Connexions Buses Optare Solo YJ05 WCF. The Solo was new to Sussex County Council in 2005 and operated on their behalf by Stagecoach. 

On service 1A to Boroughbridge is Harrogate Bus Company, 1701, a Volvo B7RLE, Wright Eclipse.

Picking up at Knaresborough Bus Station is SP51 AWX. This Connexions Buses Volvo B7TL, with East Lancs Vyking bodywork, was originally in the fleet of Stagecoach Strathtay. 

Leaving the Bus Station on service 1C is Harrogate Bus Company 309. A Volvo B10BLE with Wright Renown body. 

On service 1B to Harrogate is 1800 of the Harrogate Bus Company.

Grasmere Centre

13806 waits at Grasmere Centre, with the 12:30 599 service to Bowness Pier. It was a bitterly cold day for a ride on the open top! Had this been in the summer, I would not have been able to stand in the middle of the road to take this photo during the summer months! 

Arriving at the Grasmere Centre stop is 10558 with the 13:00 service 555 to Lancaster.
