Leyland: Fishwick Garage & Yard: Part 2 of 2

Continuing the look around the yard of John Fishwick & Sons of Leyland, and a photo of fleet no. 23 (LR52 KXD). All photo's were taken on Friday 23rd October 2015.

Fleet nos. 22 (LR52 KXS) and 20 (LR52 KXJ).

No 20 again, alongside 11 (YJ53 VDV)

Only hours to go before the sad end of the company, and I wondered whether no. 8 (YJ08 EFW) would be in service again before then?

Not going anywhere.

Leyland: Fishwick Garage & Yard: Part 1 of 2

With the news that John Fishwick & Sons were about to cease trading, having entered administration the previous evening, I visited their garage and yard in Leyland on Friday, 23rd October 2015, and took a number of photographs. The above view is of fleet no. 29 at the entrance to the yard, operating service 111, Fishwicks core route to Preston, which is to be taken over by Stagecoach.

Three Plaxton bodied Tridents at the rear of the yard.

Fleet No. 27. A Daf with Plaxton Centro body.

Another trident, 18, alongside 25.

Fishwick also operate these smart liveried Van Hool coaches for their extended tours programme. This one is YJ14 CFL

Fleet no. 6 sets off on service 111 to Preston, which runs every 12 minutes. No.29 is to the right.

Barrow: Town Hall

Leaving the Town Hal stop in Cornwallis Street, Barrow, is 47143 on service 3 to Ormsgill. All photo's this set were taken 13-10-15.

15819 prior to leaving for Ulverston on service 6.

On service 4 is 47133.

Heading for Furness Hospital on service 1 is 47148.

Bowness Coach Park

The coach park at Bowness was surprisingly busy for this time of the year as can be seen from the selection of photo's below. All were taken 20-10-15.

12 KJP - A smart looking vehicle operated by Proctors, Leeming Bar.

Waiting to be directed to a parking spot, BN12 CNZ operated by Westbus of Hounslow.

YK12 CET - Lee's of Durham.

Avalon Coaches of Glastonbury have SN12 DWD in Grand UK Holidays livery.

SJ08 WAC - Platinum Express, Walsall.

Arriving and reversing whilst I was there was CAS 748A operated by Cass, from the Wirral.

In Sunrise Holidays livery - KIG 8426 - Ambassador Travel, Great Yarmouth.

Looking a bit out of place amongst the coaches was T60 JD0 - Ogdens Holidays, St. Helens.

Bowness Pier: Horse Power

A horse and carriage service was operating at Bowness Pier today. See photo below.

No passengers and the horse looked totally fed up.

Kendal Bus Station

47055 0n the Kendal town service, 42, at the Bus Station. All photo's in this set were taken 20-10-15.

Space can be at a premium at Kendal Bus Station now that the town services are serving it. 34719 was unable to get onto the stand.

20905 arrived opposite Kendal Bus Station.

34219 was on the 14:00 service 552 to Arnside.

The 13:30 Kendal to Morecambe service 755 was operated by Olympian, 16664.

Lancaster

Entering Lancaster Bus Station from Damside Street, 27751. All photo's in this set were taken on 19-10-15.

Also in Damside Street is 10024.

47018 leaves North Road, nearing the Bus Station.

Almost in the same spot as the previous photograph is 34221.

Having called at Lancaster Bus Station, National Express PO62 LMK, operated by Travellers Choice of Carnforth, works the 10:10 departure to Birmingham Coach Station.
