Windermere To Backbarrow: Service 596

Open top service 596 has been introduced by Stagecoach Cumbria North Lancs, from Windermere to Lakeside and Backbarrow for the Lakeland Motor Museum,  Running through the school holidays this week, I took a trip on the service today, using the 11:30 departure from Windermere, seen above, operated by 17016.

Nearing Newby Bridge we met VX51 RBZ operated by Blueworks of Backbarrow. This vehicle has had a number of owners including, Davidson Buses, Bathgate; Accord Southern, Southampton; Ambassador, Great Yarmouth; Bharat, Cranford; Stagecoach, Bedford. 

The vehicles managed to squeeze by each other. 

17016 at the Lakeland Motor Museum, which would then return to Windermere at 12:30.  

Blueworks stable their vehicles in the car park adjacent to the Lakeland Motor Museum at Backarrow. KE53 HHN was at one time operated by Buckinghamshire County Council. 

Also in the Blueworks fleet, X213 OHN was new to Central Parking, Heathrow.  

Carrying a Freerider branding, Blueworks W562 JVV, was new to Fazackerley, Birmingham. 

On the return trip from Backbarrow to Lakeside, we again met Blueworks VX51 RBZ. 

Back at Windermere, 34715 was on the 508 service to Penrith via the Kirkstone Pass. 

Heading for Bowness on the 599 was 17013. 

The 13:24 service 505 to Coniston was operated by 34719.

All of a sudden, the sky darkened and we had a hailstorm for about 15 minutes! 17277 on the 599 to Grasmere. 

Edinburgh

Waiting time in North St. David's Street, Edinburgh, is Lothian Buses 327, on service 26 to Seton Sands. All photo's in this set were taken on 21st March 2016. 

Scottish Citylink 54127 on the M92 to Edinburgh, in Queensferry Street. 

Pulling away from the stop in Queensferry Street is Stagecoach 27126.

Almost in the same location as in the previous photo, First 69404.

At the junction of Shandwick Street and Princes Street, is 'Royal Route' liveried First 63273, having started in service in Stirling.

Corbridge

The village of Corbridge is near Hexham, and is well served by buses between Hexham and Newcastle. Arriva North East 4664 calls on service 85 from Hexham. All photo's in this set were taken on 18th March 2016. 

Service 10 between Hexham and Newcastle takes a slightly different route in Corbridge, serving the heart of the village. Go North East 6071, is about to turn into the village, where it follows a circular route, having crossed the single lane bridge over the River Tyne in the background. 

Go North East 6074 at the main stop in the village of Corbridge, before heading off to Newcastle. 

Servicc 85 again, this time with Arriva North East 4660. Service 10 turns to the right of the photo, (see photo of 6071 above), to serve the village. 

Go North East 6076 passes through Corbridge, having started its journey at Newcastle, Eldon Square Bus Station, just over an hour before.  

Go North East 6076 again, picking up passengers in Corbridge for the 10-minute journey to Hexham. 

Carlisle

Hexham Bus Station

Go North East 6073, in 'Ten' livery, had just arrived at Hexham Bus Station from Newcastle. 17th March 2016.

A new Bus Station is being built nearby, due to open later this year, but I wonder if this piece of 'history' (Hexham sign and the clock) will be included in the new build? Would be good if it does.
