The Fylde: Bus, Ferry & Tram

I did a circle of The Fylde today, starting off at Lancaster on the 89 service to Knott End. Although shown as being operated by Kirkby Lonsdale Coach Hire, this Travellers' Choice Streetlite (new in November 2012), PO62 LKF, was on the journey in question, photographed waiting time at Glasson Dock. Travellers' Choice now have a controlling interest in Carnforth-based Kirkby Lonsdale Coach Hire. 

There were never any more than 3 passengers on board, and I was the only one to ride through to Knott End, Ferry Approach. PO62 LKF is photographed in the car park at Knott End, waiting time before making a return trip to Lancaster. 

I then caught the ferry from Knott End to Fleetwood - seen in the distance. This operates every half an hour, but is subject to tidal conditions, and as can be seen by the sandbank on the left, it was only just possible reach the slipway.  

On the other side of the River Wyre at Fleetwood. Look how sunny it was.  By using my concessionary pass, the fare was only £1 for the crossing.

A closer look at Blackpool Tram 003, which I then boarded to reach Blackpool.  Concessionary passes are not valid (apart from local residents) on the Trams (they are on the buses), but the fare was a very reasonable £2.50 to Blackpool, North Pier.

I then caught the service 68 bus from Blackpool to Lytham, and this photo was taken from the front of the top deck, as we passed 15571 going in the opposite direction. 

I stopped off in Lytham to visit a favourite pub of mine, 15574 having brought me from Blackpool. I later made my way back to Lancaster via Preston, to complete a most enjoyable circular day out using bus, ferry and tram.
