Morecambe Running Day: Part Two

The second and final set of photo's taken at the Morecambe Running Day on Sunday 29th May 2016. As well operating free bus services,, there was also a static display such as the 1931 leyland Lion above, which was previously 1161 in the Ribble fleet.

Delivered new in 1961, Ribble 1036. 
Another Leyland Lion, but dating from 1934, was TJ 6760 formerly in the fleet of Lytham St. Anne's Corporation. 
Converted into a West Yorkshire towing wagon - LWR 424. 
Fleet no. 335 formerly with West Riding Automobile Services Ltd. New in 1952. One year younger than the photographer!
A familiar sight at one time on Anglo-Scottish services was this Eastern Scottish MSF 750P. 
TVT 128G - Potteries Motor Traction. 
Stagecoach Merseyside, South Lancs, 15226 in Gold livery for service 125 between Preston and Bolton. 
Ribble 338 on Morecambe Promenade. 
Ribble 2186 in the old Stagecoach livery.  
Ribble 1397 at Carnforth Haws Hill, having operated the free service from Morecambe.  
An unusual sight in Carnforth! Open top OCK 995K formerly with Eastern Counties. 
Carnforth Haws Hill again, this time Ribble 1775. 
Back in Morecambe and on display was this Midland Red, 4780.  
Leeds City Transport 131 outside the Morecambe Festival Market.

Stagecoach Morecambe Open Day: Part Two

The second set of photo's taken at the Stagecoach Morecambe Open Day on Saturday, 28th May 2016. A rare visitor was this South Wales based 43005. See photo below. 
43005 was branded for Merthyr Tydfil town services. 
JTD 381, formerly fleet no 10 with Lytham St Anne's Corporation.  
The buses were parked perfectly for photography, which was much appreciated. Ribble 685. 
Preserved Volvo B10M 20131. 
Originally new to Ribble, then operated by Eastern Counties, in whose livery it is seen - OCK 395K. 
At the rear of the depot yard was Stagecoach Cumbria, North Lancs 25224.  
Stagecoach Cumbria, North Lancs 22817.
Minus its fleet number and withdrawn was 22822. 
Volvo B10M 20905. 
Stagecoach Cumbria, North Lancs 22886. 
Mercedes Vario, formerly in the fleet of Stagecoach Cumbria, North Lancs, 42545. See photo below. 
42545 was sporting the livery for The Osprey Bus.  
Now owned by the Workington Transport Heritage Trust, and formerly with Cumberland Motor Services as their fleet number 210. 
1248 was in the Ribble fleet, and dates from 1950. Now part of the Stagecoach Heritage fleet.

Morecambe Running Day: Part One

The annual Ribble Vehicle Preservation Trust running day was staged in a warm and sunny Morecambe today, featuring a real mixture of buses. The above photo is of former Ribble 665, parked outside the Morecambe Festival Market. 
8534 was formerly in the fleet of the West Yorkshire PTE. 
Preserved Wigan Corporation, 101.  
Ribble 452. 
New to East London, then operated by Stagecoach Manchester, R717 YWC ended its working days, before being preserved, with Pennine Motors of Skipton. 
The unmistakeable livery of Yelloway Motor Services, Rochdale. CDK172L. 
Leaving Morecambe Coach Park in the shadows was Ribble 1775. 
The oldest vehicle (just!) was this Ribble Leyland Lion dating from 1931. Fleet no. 1161.

Stagecoach Morecambe Open Day: Part One

The well organised and excellent Stagecoach Open Day returned to the White Lund, Morecambe, depot today., featuring preserved and present day buses. 22728 formerly in the fleet of  Stagecoach North East and then Cumbria, North Lancs, is seen at Morecambe Bus Station operating the 09:45 shuttle bus to the depot. It is now sporting fleet number 728 and branded for a service in Hull. 
CEO 956 dates from 1958 and was number 169 in the Barrow Corporation fleet. 
Arriving at the depot with the 09:45 shuttle bus from Lancaster Bus Station is RCK 920, 1775 in the former Ribble fleet. 
In Handy Bus livery, is former Blackpool Transport N589 GRN. New in 1995.  
The well restored London Transport RML 2671 - SMK 671F - now in the Stagecoach heritage fleet and based at Kendal depot, where it is used for private hires, such as weddings etc. 
G186 JHG was formerly 2186 in the Ribble fleet. 
Restored Lytham St. Anees Corporation - JTD 381 - formerly fleet no. 10.  
NRN 397P was 1397 in the Ribble fleet. 
Formerly Blackpool Corporation fleet no. 92 - HFR 512E. 
Parked at the rear of the yard at White Lund was Stagecoach Cumbria, North Lancs 47751. 
17024 and 22814.

This fine looking Harrington bodied vehicle -  PCK 618 - was 1036 in the Ribble fleet.
